Job summary

UBQ.io is seeking a Finance Developer to join the team and build an internal web platform for portfolio management. You will own features end-to-end, from data queries and calculation logic to the user interface, bridging finance and technology.

You will design backend services with Python/FastAPI, optimize SQL for BigQuery, and collaborate with finance stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable analytics tools.

Qualifications

• Solid Python experience building backend services or data apps.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts: P&L, NAV, exposure, cost basis.
• Comfort writing non-trivial SQL, ideally on BigQuery or another cloud warehouse.
• Detail-oriented with a habit of testing and reconciling numbers.
• Clear communication with finance teams to gather requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain platform features including metrics, tables and data visualisations.
• Translate financial methodologies into backend logic and ensure data accuracy across reporting.
• Write and optimise SQL queries against the cloud data warehouse.
• Keep platform fast and reliable with caching, performance tuning and robust error handling.
• Collaborate with finance and operations stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver improvements.
