Spencer Stuart is seeking a Finance Manager Italy to collaborate directly with office management and the corporate accounting team, supporting all aspects of financial transactions and business analysis. The role includes responsibilities for general accounting, financial reporting, and acting as a business partner to the local Office Manager to drive the success of the Italian office.

Additionally, the position involves responsibilities for Ireland as Finance Director: a few million turnover office, with round responsibilities for finance. Travel to Ireland is expected up to 2-3 times a year.

Key relationships

Reports to: Regional Finance Director EMEA

Other key relationships: Office Manager, Worldwide Office Accountants, Consultants, Executive Assistants, Associates

Key responsibilities
  1. Prepare journal entries
  2. Maintain balance sheet reconciliations including accruals and prepayments
  3. Produce accurate monthly and quarterly reports for the office
  4. Budgeting and forecasting
  5. Analyze and review financial and business information to extract useful insights
  6. Participate in finance and office-related projects or assignments as needed
  7. Supervise the finance function, including monthly close, budget, forecast, year-end close, audits, and cash management
  8. Challenge assumptions and provide financial analysis/guidance for decision-making
  9. Coordinate with the Global Financial Center in Poland for transactional work to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  10. Optimize internal procedures and processes
Candidate profile

The ideal Finance Manager Italy is a highly motivated, self-disciplined individual with strong attention to detail, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and proactive collaboration with departments, colleagues, and clients are essential.

Ideal experience
  • College graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Economics or Accounting
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international service company, Big 4, or law firm
  • Proven experience with IFRS and local GAAP is advantageous
  • Understanding of key performance drivers and KPIs, with the ability to explain variances versus budget or forecast
Language skills

Fluency in Italian and English

Technical skills
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Workday preferred
