Offerta

As the company is expanding in Italy, we are seeking a hands-on, experienced Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee all local accounting, administrative, and payroll activities. This is a key role in supporting the setup and smooth functioning of the Italian entity. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, a practical mindset, and the ability to work independently while coordinating closely with global finance and local external partners in English.



Main responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day accounting operations in Italy, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company's global standards.
  • Maintain and operate the local accounting system, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with external providers, including a Big 4 as far as payroll, tax compliance, local filings and audit is concerned.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, vendor payments, and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation of local statutory reporting and consolidation packages.
  • Partner with the global finance team to support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Oversee administrative financial activities such as invoice tracking and approval compliance, and VAT compliance.
  • Managed local fixed assets for both statutory and global consolidation purposes, including asset tag tracking, depreciable lives, and quarterly impairment reviews.
  • Ensure proper documentation, controls, and audit readiness across all financial and administrative processes.
  • Provide finance support to local teams (Operations, HR, etc.) and support company's growth.

Competenze ed esperienza

This position will be an individual contributor in the first period and is supposed to hire and manage a growing team as the Italian entity becomes more structured.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration - mandatory.
  • Approximately 10-15 years of relevant experience in accounting / finance roles.
  • Deep knowledge of Italian accounting principles, tax rules, and statutory reporting requirements is required.
  • U.S. GAAP knowledge and experience wuould be highly preferable.
  • Experience with payroll coordination and employee benefits administration (via external partners).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and Excel.
  • Hands-on, resourceful, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills in both Italian and English.




Nice to have:
  • Experience supporting the setup or expansion of new entities or operations in Italy.
  • Prior work in a multinational organization.
  • Familiarity with VAT filings and intercompany transactions.
  • Collaborative approach with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
