The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the Italian Tax group. The Tax group strives to stay at the forefront of global tax legislation and utilize tax technology to enhance efficiencies and automation. The Senior Tax Analyst will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager and play a vital role in the Company’s tax compliance, research and planning, execution, and documentation.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the accurate preparation and filing of Income Tax Return (Unico) and consolidated Tax Return (CNM) for each Italian Legal Entity, with support from the Company’s Tax advisors.
- Assisting with the preparation, analysis, and review of the year-end income tax provision related to Statutory and US taxes for assigned subsidiaries.
- Developing and executing moderately complex tax planning strategies and projects.
- Collaborating with cross-functional groups within the Company and external consultants to resolve tax-related issues.
- Maintaining a calendar of international tax compliance and reporting deadlines.
- Supporting the Italian Tax team in preparing and reviewing VAT/Indirect Tax filings, Direct Tax filings, and Withholding tax returns.
- Assisting with Italian payroll tax compliance and tax audit inquiries.
- Supporting general Domestic Tax compliance for all Italian Business operations.
- Supporting Audit and Internal Controls, including handling audit queries, preparing audit and reconciliation schedules, and supporting financial statements for tax purposes.
- Preparing Transfer Pricing documentation with support from the Company’s Tax advisors.
- Collaborating on projects to optimize tax benefits (e.g., R&D, Capex, Industria 4.0).
- Supporting Finance Transformation projects and regional initiatives.
- Handling various ad-hoc requests from Corporate and other administrative or intercompany tasks.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years in GL accounting and taxes.
- Certified accountant.
- Business and accounting education aligned with Italian accounting standards.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, with ability to participate or lead meetings in English.
- At least 2 years of experience in an audit environment or within a multinational organization in finance/accounting.
- Experience with Oracle ERP accounting is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate financial issues clearly to various organizational levels.
- Proactive and assertive in meeting deadlines and performance goals.
