Partner with the best

As a Field Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and executing performance tests and vibration analyses, acquiring data on-site at customer locations on installed units to verify equipment performance and troubleshoot. Target equipment includes gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal and axial compressors, turbo-expanders, gearboxes, and generators.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and methodologies, identifying and introducing new technologies for data collection and diagnostics.
  • Preparing test instrumentation for use at Florence Field Testing Laboratory.
  • Leading site testing activities, managing data collection, and interfacing with customers and headquarters during test execution.
  • Preparing accurate testing reports through data analysis and diagnostics, identifying corrective actions, and providing specific recommendations.
  • Collaborating with Product Service and Engineering teams for root cause analysis and product feedback.
  • Supporting the development of new testing and data acquisition systems for advanced diagnostics and prognostics.
  • Executing unit validation tests, inspections, and data acquisition for product and service validation, troubleshooting system problems.
  • Drawing up detailed testing reports and acting as the technical interface for engineering and testing teams, coordinating with involved functions and suppliers.
  • Supporting the reliability of testing assets and proactively assisting internal and external customers.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Good thermodynamic and/or rotordynamic knowledge specific to turbomachinery, supported by practical experience.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and signal processing.
  • Experience programming with LabVIEW.
  • A passion for technical work, attention to detail, curiosity, and a self-starting attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork orientation, ability to work in a multicultural environment, and handle emergency situations and fast-paced work.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time worldwide on short notice.
