A leading automation and robotics company in Sesto San Giovanni is looking for a Field Service Technician to restore and maintain robots and systems. This role requires more than 5 years of experience in servicing robots, technical know-how, and a willingness to travel extensively. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and customer relationship management skills.

Competenze

  • A technical diploma or degree in a technical field, preferably in mechanics, electric/electronics, or IT.
  • Experience in servicing robot systems (more than 5 years).
  • Good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.

  • Restore the functionality of robots/robot systems.
  • Deal with electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
  • Fill out detailed service reports.

Overview

Field Service Technician for the Robotics & Discrete Automation Business, located in Sesto San Giovanni (Milan). The role is part of the Robotics Customer Service organization at ABB.

Responsibilities
  • Restore the functionality of robots / robot systems.
  • Deal with electrical, mechanical and software problems.
  • Fill out detailed service reports.
  • Coordinate logistics and spare parts for all service visits.
  • Inform the Field Service Coordinator and the Sales Engineers on possible technical improvements discussed with the customer on-site.
  • Use the company’s IT tools to record support and service activities.
  • Comply with the company’s Safety and Integrity procedures and standards.
Your background
  • A technical diploma / degree in a technical field, preferably in mechanics, electric / electronics, information technology.
  • Experience in servicing robot / robot systems (more than 5 years).
  • Knowledge in robot programming (Rapid) is a plus, as well as knowledge of Paint or Arc Welding processes.
  • Willingness to travel more than 90% of the time (by car, mainly in Italy).
  • Good knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel.
  • Good knowledge of English language, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical skills and the right attitude for problem solving. Ability to manage a repair visit on-site independently.
  • Easiness to manage the relationship with the customer.
