Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards. Cleanroom environment: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. allowed. Laboratory setting, office environment, and some PPE (personal protective equipment) such as safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc., are required. Will work with hazardous / toxic materials.

Division Specific Information

The Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) Electron Microscopy (EM) division enables customers to find meaningful answers that accelerate breakthroughs and change the world. We design, manufacture, and support a broad range of high-performance microscopy solutions that deliver images and insights at micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.

How You Will Make an Impact :

Field Service Engineers provide technical support, ensuring the optimal performance of equipment and systems. You will work directly with customers to address their needs, ensuring satisfaction and product efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and develop the assigned service team
  • Communicate effectively within the team
  • Lead and facilitate regular team meetings
  • Coordinate with sales and service teams
  • Plan and schedule staff efficiently
  • Manage critical customer communications with the service manager
  • Handle escalation processes
  • Participate in customer meetings
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed
  • Coordinate technical and non-technical training
  • Support regional service manager
  • Plan and prepare for installations, collaborating with Regional Installation Project Manager (RIPM) and regional experts
  • Perform field service activities, typically about 50% of working hours depending on team size

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechatronics, electronics / engineering, or equivalent

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
