Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Following the acquisition of the successful E&I Switchgear Business by Vertiv, there is an opportunity to integrate the Switchgear Service offering from E&I into the wider Vertiv service business. In order to meet the demand of customers for the installation and servicing of this offering, we are recruiting experienced Field Service Engineers to provide consistent quality and support to customers across the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist Delivery of project site works on LV switchgear panels - Installation, commission, test and handover to client over multiple projects.
  2. Assist in the completion of preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels.
  3. Preparation of all tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.
  4. Liaise with department internal procurement for any additional material requirements/manufacturing needs to close out snag lists.
  5. Completion of site related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
  6. Responsibility for safe working practices on-site and ensuring all relevant HSE procedures are adhered to.
  7. Be willing to undertake varying levels of security clearance & criminal record checking for customer sites that have enhanced security procedures.
  8. Attend customer sites across a defined geographical area.
  9. Fully participate in an on-call rota (as defined locally).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a site/client facing role.
  2. Recognised qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  3. Experience with dealing with clients/customers in a professional manner.
  4. Familiar with all aspects of electrical panel testing & fault finding.
  5. Understanding of LV Switchgear and Protection devices.
  6. Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety.
  7. Familiar with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation.
  8. Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests.
  9. Fully flexible to work additional hours on request.
  10. This is a site-based role and majority of work time will be based on-site or travelling.
  11. Full driving license.
  12. Electrical Engineering Background.
  13. Competency in primary & secondary injection testing.
  14. Competency in flash testing.
  15. Knowledge of PC Software.
  16. Working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems.
  17. Experience in Troubleshooting.
  18. Time served or equivalent.
  19. Electrical Trade background would be advantageous.
  20. Experience in working within an electrical service environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. A significant amount of after hours and weekend work, frequently scheduled with little notice.
  2. Travel on a daily basis to and from customer sites.
  3. Will be required to stay away from home or travel long distances.
  4. Occasional heavy lifting required.
  5. You will be expected to operate as part of a team.
  6. Participate on the 24/7 on call rota.
  7. May be required to travel abroad from time to time.
  8. You will be supplied with a Company uniform, which must be worn at all times while working.
