POSITION SUMMARY

Excellent onboarding and development opportunities are offered. Following the acquisition of the successful E&I Switchgear Business by Vertiv, there is an opportunity to integrate the Switchgear Service offering from E&I into the wider Vertiv service business. To meet customer demand for installation and servicing of this offering, we are recruiting experienced Field Service Engineers to provide consistent quality and support to customers across the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in delivering project site works on LV switchgear panels, including installation, commissioning, testing, and handover to clients across multiple projects.
• Assist in completing preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels.
• Prepare all tools, test equipment, and site documentation for project and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with internal procurement for additional materials or manufacturing needs to close out snag lists.
• Complete site-related paperwork, ensure documentation is signed off by relevant parties, and upload to client portals promptly.
• Ensure safe working practices on-site and adherence to all relevant HSE procedures.
• Willingness to undertake security clearance and criminal record checks for secure customer sites.
• Attend customer sites across a defined geographical area.
• Participate fully in an on-call rota as defined locally.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a site or client-facing role.
• Recognized qualification in an Engineering discipline.
• Experience dealing with clients/customers professionally.
• Familiarity with electrical panel testing and fault finding.
• Understanding of LV Switchgear and Protection devices.
• Good knowledge of safe isolation and electrical safety.
• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed test documentation.
• Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.
• Flexibility to work additional hours as required.
• This role is primarily site-based, involving on-site work and travel.
• Full driving license required.
• Electrical Engineering background preferred.
• Competency in primary and secondary injection testing and flash testing.
• Knowledge of PC software and electrical drawings/control systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting.
• Time served or equivalent experience; electrical trade background advantageous.
• Experience working within an electrical service environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Significant after-hours and weekend work, often scheduled with little notice.
• Daily travel to customer sites; potential for overnight stays or long-distance travel.
• Occasional heavy lifting.
• Teamwork and participation in a 24/7 on-call rota required.
• May require international travel.
• Company uniform will be provided and must be worn during work.
