The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing technical service and support on Agfa and third-party products to customers and internal staff. The role emphasizes customer relationship management, support of sales activities, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of inkjet equipment, requiring strong technical problem-solving skills and excellent customer service.

You must always be customer-focused, able to work independently or as part of a team, and communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and third-party trades in a professional manner, presenting a positive image of the company. Clear communication of technical matters is essential due to the customer-facing nature of this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively and efficiently repair and maintain customer equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Agfa products.
  • Troubleshoot Agfa and third-party products, including repair and replacement on-site and remotely.
  • Execute Break & Fix primarily in the zone but also regionally, on-site and remotely.
  • Carry out pre-installations and installations.
  • Support the customer in the field.
  • Assist internal and external customers with technical questions and issues both on-site and remotely.
  • Escalate problems to 2nd and 3rd tier support when necessary.
  • Assist R&D and HQ in problem solving and risk analysis.
  • Stay updated on the equipment portfolio through training in Italy or abroad.
  • Ensure high-quality service tasks towards the customer.
  • Maintain good relationships with customer-facing teams.
  • Work independently while maintaining team spirit and sharing knowledge.
  • Document and report technical issues as needed.
  • Log and close calls according to guidelines.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required.
  • Identify opportunities for up-selling Agfa services and products and pass these to sales.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Digital Print Technology.
  • Ability to fault-find basic electronics to component level and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Office IT applications (MS Word, Excel, email, etc.).
  • Valid local driving license.
