We are seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) for Italy, preferably based in the Milan or Rome area.

The FSE provides technical service and support mainly for Digital Pathology equipment, adhering to Leica Biosystems (LBS), ISO, FDA, and budget guidelines. The goal is to minimize customer downtime and generate revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide installation, maintenance, modification, and repair support for Digital Pathology instruments.
  2. Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers within established timeframes to meet expectations.
  3. Complete service documentation promptly to comply with ISO, FDA, and company policies.
  4. Apply published Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) timely, updating or modifying instruments as recommended.
  5. Support the sale of service contracts, assist sales with system configurations and upgrades, and suggest improvements to enhance financial performance.
  6. Enhance product and professional skills to represent the company professionally.
  7. Maintain spare parts inventory within budget to optimize repair metrics.
  8. Manage expenses to maximize profit contribution.
  9. Represent the company professionally to instill confidence in clients.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Education in Mechanical, Electronic, or Electrical Technology.
  • At least 4 years of experience as an FSE in the biomedical industry, working with hospital diagnostic equipment.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of network setup, firewalls, TCP/IP, Windows environment, remote storage, domain policies, and firewalls.
  • Proven ability to learn new technical skills with limited prior experience.

Preferred additional experience includes:

  • Experience in Anatomical Pathology.
  • Knowledge of Digital Pathology integration and software installation.
Travel & Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%), including training abroad.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 25kg.
