Wärtsilä Corporation in Genoa, Italy seeks a Field Service Engineer – 4‑Stroke to manage service activities on Wärtsilä 4‑stroke engines and related systems. You will work in the field, interface with customers, and perform commissioning, troubleshooting, overhauls, and maintenance.

The role requires travel approx. 80% and offers a hybrid model with remote work when not on assignment. Strong mechanical background and English/Italian skills are essential for success.

Competenze

• Technical high school diploma in mechanics or bachelor’s in marine/mechanical engineering.
• Experience with overhaul and repair of Wärtsilä OEM engines is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication with customers and teams; fluent English and Italian.

Mansioni

• Execute planned maintenance and repair on Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines and auxiliaries.
• Perform on-site overhauls of engine components, on board vessels or in workshop.
• Carry out advanced engine troubleshooting to identify root causes of failures.
• Check, adjust, and test relevant systems including auxiliaries.
• Perform commissioning and trial runs of Wärtsilä equipment.
• Prepare service reports and travel expense documentation per requirements.
• Identify failures, perform adjustments, and support testing and trials.
• Submit time and expense reports to administrative personnel.
