Descrizione del lavoro

As the Field Service Engineer in the Process System Solution business unit, your role will be to support our customers (mainly pharma and chemical plants) by delivering activities required for maintenance, troubleshooting, incident resolution, technical support, system upgrades, warranty services, training, performing configuration and/or modifications, and on-call services for DeltaV DCS. You will become part of our Lifecycle Services team, which helps our customers carry out maintenance, improve security and reliability, and boost performance of their DeltaV DCS systems. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing system maintenance and performance evaluations.
  • Providing technical support to customers, troubleshooting, leading investigations, and recommending solutions.
  • Providing remote technical support (via phone and internet) for DeltaV DCS system users.
  • Performing on-call shift-based services and emergency call-outs to ensure quick and efficient customer support.
  • Assisting in design studies, hardware and software upgrades, and modifications.
  • Supporting project activities at customer sites, including system installation and application programming.
  • Providing on-site training for Emerson products.
  • Staying updated with the latest technologies and products relevant to your role.

Minimum requirements for this role include:

  • A technical diploma or degree in engineering fields such as electronics, automation, computer science, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of information technology (IT), networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, programming software, operating systems, Active Directory, patch management, backup, and recovery.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in process industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, oil & gas, or refineries.

Preferred qualifications that will set you apart:

  • Experience with DCS or PLC applications, with knowledge of DeltaV DCS being an advantage.
  • Start-up and commissioning experience in process automation.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Availability to work outside regular hours, including weekends, to support customers and perform call-out services.
