The Field Engineer (FE) provides functions associated with the installation, modification, and ongoing service of Carestream and third-party equipment in accordance with Field Procedures. Occasionally, the FE will also provide on-site training to customers on operating and maintenance tasks.
The focus areas include:
Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Radiography (CR), and Printers (DO) modalities, including DR, CR, and DO installations, with responsibility for related projects and preventative maintenance.
The FE will be trained on all Carestream products.
Responsibilities:
- Provides service support and guidance to customers on Carestream and OEM install base, building strong, professional relationships.
- Delivers accurate and timely reports to Carestream and OEMs.
- Provides Problem Management to resolve customer issues thoroughly, following logical troubleshooting steps per approved procedures.
- Demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
- Monitors equipment performance, highlights issues, and develops action plans with local and regional specialists.
- Collaborates with Sales and Service Sales Specialists to stay updated on new developments.
- Maintains and monitors parts inventory according to current directives.
- Maximizes service call activities while controlling costs (e.g., return visits, same-day fixes, call duration).
- Communicates effectively with customers regarding service call progress.
- Undertakes or identifies projects that positively impact the business.
- Proactively addresses potential issues.
- Establishes effective relationships within the service department and other Carestream departments to address key business issues and opportunities.

Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from Polytechnic University or equivalent, or relevant experience.
- Practical experience in electrical and mechanical areas.
- Experience with large systems installation and maintenance is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows platforms.
- Basic PC software skills.
- Experience in a hospital environment.
- Understanding of digital X-ray equipment.
