Position :

The main responsibility of the FAE position is to proactively support Vicor power solutions across various market segments including:

  • Automotive
  • Industrial
  • Aerospace & Defense
  • High Performance Computing

This involves coordination with Business Development Managers, Account Managers, and internal partners, providing pre- and post-sales technical support such as product selection, product introduction, DIN assistance from electrical, mechanical, and thermal perspectives, and troubleshooting customer systems when needed.

Job Details / Tasks

  1. Articulate technology, power architectures, and product positioning to both business and technical audiences.
  2. Develop business and relationships directly with customers and their technical teams.
  3. Work with channel partners at target accounts to develop business.
  4. Capture technical requirements and system architecture from customers, liaising with Product Line Engineers.
  5. Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with customer engineering teams.
  6. Review schematics and support existing customer projects.
  7. Handle incoming technical inquiries via phone and email.
  8. Conduct regular customer visits, requiring 30-50% travel.
  9. Prepare content and conduct technical seminars and conferences.
  10. Provide product training to selected customers across segments.
  11. Assist with hands-on product evaluations in the local lab.
  12. Support channel demand creation by qualifying new opportunities and increasing conversion rates from design to win.
  13. Support customers' channel technical issues and visit channel customers for application engineering support.
  14. Visit distribution branch offices for technical training and presentations.

Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes

  1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in analog/power supply design or applications engineering.
  2. Experience in automotive markets is preferred.
  3. Electronics technician skills are desirable.
  4. Good understanding of analog circuit design.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Experience working with distribution partners.
  7. Self-motivated, hardworking, results-oriented, and problem solver.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present to audiences.
  9. Ability to balance short-term achievements with long-term development.
  10. Business acumen.
  11. Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian.
  12. Computer literate, including CRM systems like Salesforce.
  13. Valid full clean driving license.
