NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, is an education Academy focusing on arts and design: it is the largest private Academy in Italy, and the first one to have been recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), back in 1980. As a recognized Academy, NABA offers academic diplomas equivalent to first and second level university degrees in the fields of design, fashion, graphics and communication, multimedia arts, set design, and visual arts.

NABA is currently seeking motivated individuals for the role of Fashion and Textile Laboratory Assistant. The successful candidate will join the Fashion and Textile Laboratories team in Rome. Reporting directly to the Fashion and Textile Laboratories Supervisor, he/she will support and assist teachers during lessons, ensuring the didactic activities of the course programs are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations. They will also manage the supply and organization of materials and equipment for the relevant lessons.

The selected candidate will carry out the following activities:

1. Support the Line Manager in scheduling and organizing the laboratories, providing appropriate information on available equipment in relation to didactic needs.
2. Assist the team with end-of-course activities (fashion shows), events, and promotional activities (Open days, student welcome sessions, etc.).
3. Handle procurement processes for materials and consumables needed for didactic activities.
4. Monitor stock levels and ensure proper disposal of materials (loading/unloading, space management, inventories).
5. Support routine and extraordinary maintenance of equipment; manage procurement of new equipment within the budget.
6. Implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment in laboratories, in compliance with legal regulations; ensure proper disposal of laboratory waste.
7. Provide technical support to students and teachers during lessons, assisting with modeling, packaging, and project realization.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma or Degree in fashion design or an equivalent qualification, with 2-3 years of experience as a laboratory assistant in an academic setting or in the fashion/textile department of a multinational company. Attention to detail, flexibility, strong organizational and planning skills, problem-solving attitude, and customer orientation are essential. Fluency in Italian and very good English skills are required.
