JOB OPENING

• Title: Family Advocacy Program (FAP Education Coordinator)
• Location: Camp Darby Military Community, Livorno, Italy

SUMMARY

Personnel needed to provide services to the Family Advocacy Program in support of the Army Community Service (ACS). The FAP Educator is responsible for ensuring community members have access to family violence education and referrals to Victim Advocacy services for victims of family violence (child abuse, spouse abuse). Responsibilities include teaching FAP classes, providing program overviews, assisting with special events, and performing administrative duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in social science, behavioral health, health science education, community health, or public health.
• Experience: At least one (1) year in family and children’s services or community organization, including experience in Family Violence.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Driver’s License
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• English proficiency at level 3 (Good working knowledge)

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Conducting professional training, briefings, and classes.
• Implementing prevention programs, including community education, commander education, troop education, professional training, and parent support, focusing on domestic violence and child abuse prevention.
• Participating in community outreach, manning informational tables, supporting community events, and providing input for the FAP program.
• Organizing community resilience events and family summits.
• Promoting child abuse prevention and teen dating violence awareness through community meetings and public education.
• Marketing the FAP program to the community.
• Evaluating program effectiveness through surveys and participating in Family Advocacy Committee activities.
• Collaborating with the ACS FAP team and attending relevant meetings.
• Case coordination and referral services.
• Administrative duties, including database management, training logs, and data entry.

TRAINING / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The FAP Educator may need to attend training sessions to enhance skills, primarily offered through HQ in San Antonio, Texas, or other U.S. locations. Occasional training may require travel from Camp Darby to Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, twice a year for 1-2 days per session.
