Facultative Reinsurance Broker

WTW is expanding its Facultative Reinsurance capabilities in Italy and seeks a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our team. This role offers an early-career professional the opportunity to gain practical experience in the reinsurance industry, working alongside seasoned brokers and contributing to effective risk transfer solutions for clients.

Based in Milan, as a Broker, you will support the team in placing facultative reinsurance, preparing client submissions, and fostering relationships with cedants and reinsurers. You will develop your expertise through hands-on experience, internal development programs, and collaboration with global teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in evaluating and analyzing client risks to design suitable facultative reinsurance solutions.
2. Support the preparation of placement documentation, including presentations and submissions to reinsurers.
3. Participate in negotiations of facultative terms and conditions under senior brokers' guidance.
4. Help manage existing portfolios, including documentation and policy tracking.
5. Liaise with internal stakeholders (client teams, claims, legal, finance) for accurate and timely services.
6. Contribute to business development and relationship-building in the Italian market.
7. Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
8. Learn and utilize WTW’s tools and systems for placement and servicing of reinsurance.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or related fields.
2. Experience of 3-5 years in insurance, reinsurance, or related financial services is advantageous.
3. Basic understanding of insurance and reinsurance concepts.
4. Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication skills in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
6. Willingness to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
8. Collaborative mindset and eagerness to join an international team.
