  • Job Summary

    The Facilities Project Specialist will provide support to the AVP of Facilities Management to include performance of tasks related to capital construction projects and physical plant operations, routine safety checks and maintenance of documents, and staff coverage for Facilities Team members during absences.

    Job Duties:

  • Coordinate and communicate daily with contractors on active construction projects and physical plant operations, including tasks that may occur outside of standard business hours.
  • Conduct routine facilities maintenance and safety inspections, including checks of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and emergency lighting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with the AVP of Facilities Management to address any identified issues.
  • Perform general building and grounds maintenance, including sidewalk snow removal, furniture setup and relocation for events, and office/classroom reconfigurations.
  • Provide custodial support as needed, including cleaning and maintaining restrooms, classrooms, offices, and hallways to ensure a clean and safe campus environment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, manage the storage and removal of hazardous waste, and perform other duties as assigned to support campus operations.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent and 4-6 years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
  • Basic understanding of cleaning equipment like vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and doing repetitive tasks.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed to keeping things clean and safe.
  • You must be able to occasionally and safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4-6 years of experience.
  • Previous experience in a community college setting.
  • Experience and understanding of building systems.
