Job Opportunity: Facilities Engineer (Gas Storage and Distribution Systems)

MEMC Electronic Materials Spa – A GlobalWafers Company, a leading producer of silicon wafers for the electronics sector, is seeking a Facilities Engineer specializing in gas storage and distribution systems.

The selected candidate will be part of the Facilities Maintenance & Operations team, responsible for managing maintenance and improvements of gas storage and distribution systems used in production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate gas systems efficiently and safely.
  2. Manage preventive and corrective maintenance, including coordinating with specialized contractors; conduct investigations to identify root causes of faults and develop containment, recovery, and preventive action plans.
  3. Support plant operations: scheduling deliveries, replacing tanks/drums/cylinders, maintaining systems in optimal condition.
  4. Manage modifications and improvements using tools like FMEA, HAZOP, and coordinate project activities including qualification and commissioning.
  5. Participate in planning meetings for facilities activities.
  6. Assist Purchasing and Process Engineering teams in evaluating and qualifying alternative supplies and plant modifications.
  7. Collaborate with Facilities Improvement and Technical Office teams on projects involving gas storage and distribution systems.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Excellent ability to read and write P&ID diagrams.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in technical documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to clearly present analysis results.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and SAP.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Autonomy, proactive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and flexibility.
