If you know art’otel, you know we like to do things differently. Our guests come to us for something that goes beyond their usual hotel expectations, and that’s what you’ll do as our Host/Hostess.

Your approach to the job will be inspired by your authentic style and self - always ready with care and attention, a bright idea, a recommendation that only you could give. You’ll know exactly who needs what and when, you’ll remember their names and you’ll use your creativity and expertise to deliver a fantastic experience every time.

In your role as Host/Hostess, you’ll discuss and agree on key objectives with your line manager. These objectives are designed to support your department’s goals and priorities. You’ll also take responsibility for your own development, embracing training opportunities we offer, while learning from challenges and mistakes along the way.

How you do it:

  1. You’ll be in charge of maximising our floor capacity in ingenious ways, using our booking software, optimising reservations for peak times, and ensuring all departments actively promote us.
  2. You’re great at making sure you’re a brilliant first point of contact for customers. You’ll create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in line with our art’otel standards.
  3. You’ll manage guest arrivals, enquiries, and seating arrangements efficiently to fill our restaurant and lounge floor with happy guests.
  4. You’ll ensure all menus are up to date, including any special promotions.
  5. You’ll work closely with the kitchen and management to communicate menu changes and ensure the team is well informed.
  6. You’ll be quick and efficient at scheduling and allocating tasks, keeping productivity optimised.
  7. You’ll devise and implement ingenious booking strategies and procedures to maximise capacity, along with guidelines for handling reservations, cancellations, and walk-ins.
  8. You’ll handle customer enquiries, concerns, and requests quickly and creatively, keeping the management team informed.
  9. You’ll follow the guidance and instructions given by your leadership team.

What you bring:

  1. You’re a great communicator, liaising with the front office and sales department to coordinate reservations, guest information, and special requests, and keeping the reception team, kitchen staff, and serving staff in the loop.
  2. You’re up to date on health regulations and ready to conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance.
  3. You’re clean and tidy, maintaining our reception area and adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
  4. You’re skilled at dealing with guest feedback, using insights to enhance customer satisfaction.
  5. You lead by example through professionalism, commitment to excellence, and gold-standard service.
  6. You can create a positive, creative, and customer-focused work environment, motivating your team to uphold high standards and provide personalised, attentive, and efficient service daily.
