WORK LOCATION

Position is located OCONUS at Aviano AB, Italy; work is performed at an aircraft depot facility, including occasional flight line operations, hangar, and/or aviation field environment.

Description:

Responsible for depot-level modification, upgrade, & test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic and other electrical systems/sub-systems such as radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Inspects components for defects and verifies assembly and installation accuracy.
  • Tests systems under simulated or actual conditions with test equipment like oscilloscopes and digital meters.
  • Adjusts, repairs, and replaces defective components based on test analysis, following technical documents.
  • Calibrates systems to prescribed specifications when required.
  • Operates ground servicing equipment to test and verify system functionality and airworthiness.
  • Documents all work accurately, including electronic records.
  • Interacts effectively with program, customer, and military representatives on-site.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet one of the following: a bachelor's degree + 3 years' experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance; an associate's degree, A&P license, or FCC license + 4 years' experience; or a high school diploma + 8 years' experience.
  • F-16 experience is strongly preferred; other fighter jet experience may be considered.
  • Experience with 5th generation aircraft is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office skills are preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.
  • US Citizenship is mandatory due to clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift as needed.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift parts and tools over 50 lbs, and perform walking, standing, and bending tasks.
  • Must have adequate vision and hearing or suitable prosthetics.
