Export area manager

Our customer is a leading industrial company, for them we are looking for an EXPORT AREA MANAGER.
You will support the growth of the company business across distributors within France, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt. You will be responsible for driving the business in the assigned region, managing the partnership with distributors.
As Export Area Manager you will be responsible for developing and training sales and technical knowledge of distributors.
Resident or available to be resident near Milan.
This position involves travelling throughout the territory for about 60% of the working time.

Education / Qualifications:

1. Preferable a degree in engineering.
2. Fluent French and English.
3. Technical and commercial sales experience.
4. Demonstrable experience of successfully managing and motivating distributors.

Professional Skills/ Abilities:

1. Experience in managing and coaching distributors' sales teams.
2. Experience in sales techniques including qualifying prospects, identifying key decision influencers, managing bids, negotiation, closing and related commercial contract activities.
3. Compelling and effective presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Support the growth of business with acquisition of new Distributors within the assigned regions.
2. Establish sales targets with the distributors in agreement with managers, consistent with sales growth, product volume and discount goals.
3. Provide leadership and support to the distributor teams, coach and mentor to help improve skills.
4. Conduct regular customer visits with distributors and provide feedback to help improve performance.
5. Provide and/or coordinate technical sales training on new and existing products and related tools to build technical competency.
6. Ability to work with marketing/product management.
7. Maintain professional awareness of relevant external technical or business developments, including competitor activity and sales volumes by product and market segments.
8. Support Financial department in keeping under control customers payments.
