FieldCore is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer and Technical Field Advisor to join our Field Operations team based in Italy.

Role Overview

As the Controls Technical Field Advisor for Gas Turbines, you will manage controls activities on-site during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of gas turbines and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage controls activities on-site during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment, including oversight of installation, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Coordinate site activities, including planning, organizing, and directing resources such as labor, tools, and materials to meet contractual requirements.
  • Understand PLC ladder logic and troubleshoot by navigating ladder rungs.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical flow diagrams and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Ensure proper installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance practices are followed.
  • Provide expertise in equipment instrumentation calibration, including various transmitters.
  • Support customers, service teams, technicians, and operators with technical knowledge.
  • Prepare accurate reports and attend technical meetings with clients.
  • Adhere to safety, environmental, and health guidelines in all field activities.
  • Offer expert consultation on complex projects and OEM packaged products.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to spend significant time away from home for training and project work.
Skills & Experience

Ideal candidates will have experience in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or equipment installation and commissioning, with skills including:

  • Experience with Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems.
  • Familiarity with Mark VI, Mark V, or Mark V controls systems.
  • Ability to understand and implement controls software.

A formal engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) is preferred, but relevant experience and achievements are highly valued.
