The European Gravitational Observatory (EGO) is a French-Italian consortium founded by INFN and CNRS to promote European collaboration in gravitational wave research. It hosts and operates the Virgo detector, a 3 km-long laser interferometer, and collaborates with LIGO in the US. The Virgo experiment involves about 850 members from 42 institutions across 16 countries. The EGO administration comprises two departments: Area 1 (Human Resources, Finance, EU Accountability, Outreach & Communication, User Office) and Area 2 (Tenders and Procurement, Legal Affairs, EU Projects, External Relations). The Head of Area 1 also serves as the RPCT. The position open is for the Head of Department AD1, with potential interim responsibilities for AD2, and the possibility of appointment as Deputy Director.

The successful candidate will be appointed at a level and salary potentially exceeding entry level by up to 10%, based on specific needs. The role involves contributing to strategic planning and overseeing financial planning, accounting, treasury, and human resources as part of the EGO Directorate.

Experience: Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience
