Job Description

The position involves assisting the Manager in executing meetings and events, driving the implementation of brand service strategies and initiatives. The role focuses on meeting customer needs during events, growing event revenues, handling issues and conflicts, and conducting daily walk-throughs of the banquet floor to ensure client satisfaction and maintain quality standards.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related fields.
  • OR
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year of relevant experience.

Core Work Activities

Assisting in Managing Meetings and Special Events Operations

  • Research and analyze new products, pricing, and services of competitors.
  • Review scheduled events and troubleshoot potential challenges.
  • Coordinate all groups impacting property operations.
  • Oversee cleaning and maintenance of meeting spaces and related areas.
  • Manage furniture and equipment maintenance and inventory levels.
  • Implement brand service initiatives in event management areas.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure client satisfaction and quality standards.

Assisting in Budgets and Finances

  • Develop relationships with vendors, establish prices and service agreements to enhance the event experience and revenue.
  • Assist in creating the annual banquet budget.

Driving Exceptional Customer Service

  • Create an environment that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
  • Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for meetings, conferences, and conventions.
