The purpose of the role

The mission of the Finance organization revolves around three key areas: 1) protecting business assets, 2) providing timely and accurate insights and analytics, and 3) driving sustainable business growth and expansion.

The Head of Controlling, Tax, and Treasury will oversee accounting processes, tax filings, cash management, and external audits for Europe and Africa. This role involves high-level interaction with the Corporate Finance team, Europe & Africa Executive management, HR, and IT leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact with the global controlling team.
• Manage monthly and year-end accounts, ensuring proper documentation.
• Supervise consolidated and statutory accounts, including tax computations for all entities in Europe & Africa.
• Ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements across all entities.
• Implement and review transfer pricing policies regularly.
• Lead audit engagements for Europe and Africa entities.
• Advise on legal and tax considerations when establishing new entities.
• Maintain effective internal controls, segregation of duties, and audit trails.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the Finance team and the broader business.
• Oversee GL accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage end-to-end cash flow, including day-to-day operations and forecasting.
• Coordinate with the global treasury team.
• Lead and develop the finance team, promoting a collaborative culture aligned with company values.
• Support Health and Safety standards actively.
• Supervise a team of approximately 14 members, including direct reports.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or Finance; MBA is advantageous.
• Certified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or experience with Big4 firms.
• Minimum of 10 years' senior-level experience in international finance, including accounting management or financial controlling.
• Experience with consolidation, cash management, and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Experience leading audit engagements and familiarity with US GAAP.
• Strong knowledge of tax and transfer pricing practices.
• Proficiency in Excel, including macros and financial modeling.
• Analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with D365 and BPC is a plus.
• Proven leadership in people and budget management.
• Excellent communication skills across various modes and audiences.
• Track record of achieving results under challenging circumstances.
