Airswift is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer / Estimator for a major EPC capital project in Milan. The role focuses on cost management, estimating, CAPEX planning and project controls to keep delivery aligned with budget and schedule.

Key duties include developing cost reports, forecasting funds, managing change orders and reflecting cost data across reports and dashboards. 5–10 years in the field and experience with SAP/Power BI are preferred.

Competenze

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.

COST ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR

Location: Milan, Italy Duration: September 2026 – January 2028 Project: Safaniyah Water Handling Project Division PMT This opportunity supports a major detail design EPC project within the oil, gas and energy sector, focused on cost engineering, estimating, CAPEX planning and project controls. The role offers the chance to contribute to a large-scale water handling project by providing cost management insight, forecasting and reporting that help keep delivery aligned with budget and schedule. This position would suit professionals with strong experience in cost management, estimating and project execution within capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate assigned project issues/concerns directly to Project Manager, (Sr. Cost Engineer) and Business Administrator.
• Develop and maintain cost reports, cash flow and contingency analyses for the individual projects.
• Provide Cost Estimates.
• Administer Change Orders and Bid box as required by procedure.
• Estimates costs of positive / negative scope changes and assess impact on total project cost: work with estimators to get assistance if needed.
• Ensure accurate reflection of committed/spent funds, Change Alerts, Project deviation notices, field change orders, and project execution changes in all cost documents relating to the construction phase.
• Assist with managing existing and amended AEL values.
• Liaison with Human Resource Department to monitor office space which is billable to the project as required to ensure that the project is not billed for space not being used.
• Derive an accurate and realistic forecast of all funds required to complete the project within the defined budget and schedule while incorporating own trending and analysis and consult with the Project Manager prior to publishing.
• Ensure accurate representation of cost data in weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting.
• Alert Coordinating Cost Management Office and Business Management Office and the project team to critical Cost Management issues.
• Provide assistance for additional cost management related studies and scenarios if required.
• Prepare and update monthly project updates (MPU).
• Review of Contractor Progress Payment Certificates for Engineering, Procurement and Construction.
• Process Service Entry Sheets through SAP once the invoice is approved.
• PO creation and WBS corrections through SAP.
• Monitor, analyze & verify project Controllable Costs on a monthly basis through the Operating Statement Dashboard.
• Change Management (follow the process from COR to settlement).

Required Education & Certifications

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Required)

Required Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in the cost management field.
• Experience working on capital projects within an EPC project environment.
• Practical estimating experience gained through project execution.

Required Skills

• Strong cost engineering and estimating capability.
• Ability to review engineering drawings and break down scope of work into quantifiable tasks.
• Budget tracking, variance analysis, cash flow management and forecasting skills.
• Change order evaluation and cost adjustment capability.
• English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Analytical ability and strong desktop application skills.
• Knowledge of procedures relevant to cost engineering and estimating.
• Experience using SAP, Capital Dashboard, EPM, e-market place and Power BI.
• Ability to plan, organise, analyse and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to communicate openly and effectively with project stakeholders.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Mega capital projects experience preferred.
