Enterprise Architect Infrastructure || Freelance Role || Long-term Project || Italian Client || English Contract

The Enterprise Architect Infrastructure will be responsible for designing and overseeing complex infrastructure architectures based on Virtual Machines (VM) and microservices (MS). The role requires deep technical understanding of IT infrastructures, expertise in defining VM or POD sizing requirements (CPU, RAM, Storage), and the ability to design resilient and high-performance solutions in compliance with company policies.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure architectures based on virtual machines, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability according to architectural best practices.
• Analyze technical and functional business requirements to translate them into architectural specifications, clearly identifying sizing needs (CPU, RAM, Storage) and network requirements (network segmentation, VLAN, DMZ, etc.).
• Apply methodologies and solutions to ensure Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, defining backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Ensure that designed architectures comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Actively collaborate with internal teams such as cybersecurity, networking, development, and operations to ensure effective integration of solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in technical disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent).
• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in designing and managing infrastructure based on virtual machines (e.g., VMware) and microservices/containers (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
• Proven experience in infrastructure design on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with the ability to identify the most suitable services for client needs.
• Deep knowledge of resource sizing techniques for virtualized hardware to achieve optimal performance and reliability.
• Experience in defining and implementing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and apply company policies and technical standards.
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Industry knowledge in banking (nice to have).
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Technical leadership and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Autonomy in decision-making and managing complex activities.
• Fluent in Italian and English (technical).
