Job summary

TEAMSYSTEM SPA is seeking an exceptional engineering leader to drive a high-performing software organization in a hybrid work setup in Milan. You will shape the technical direction, mentor senior engineers, and partner with product and business stakeholders to deliver scalable digital solutions.

The role requires 10+ years in software engineering, strong leadership, and fluency in English (C1). Experience with cloud-native architectures and AI-enabled tooling is a plus.

In particular, you will: Lead, coach and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and accountable engineering culture. Partner with Product Managers and other stakeholders to define priorities, goals and delivery plans aligned with business and organizational objectives. Drive the successful execution of engineering initiatives, removing blockers, managing risks and ensuring high-quality outcomes. Provide technical leadership and strategic direction, supporting architectural decisions, technology evolution and engineering best practices. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with product vision, customer needs and business goals. Contribute to hiring, talent development, resource planning and continuous improvement initiatives to support the long-term growth of the engineering organization.

What skills are we looking for? At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering complex technology initiatives. Strong software development background and the ability to provide technical leadership across architecture, platform and product evolution. Solid experience with cloud-native technologies, distributed systems and modern software delivery practices. Broad exposure to software development, data and infrastructure technologies, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams across different domains. Demonstrated ability to align engineering execution with product strategy, business goals and organizational priorities. Experience working in a product-centric environment and building scalable digital products will be considered a strong plus. Proven ability to evaluate and adopt AI-powered tools and practices to improve engineering effectiveness, team productivity and software delivery outcomes. Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level).
