A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Project Development Engineer for remote work in Italy. You will support the project lifecycle focusing on permitting processes and technical coordination for wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role requires experience in the Italian regulatory landscape, technical documentation management, and fluency in both Italian and English. Regular travel within Italy is expected for stakeholder engagement and compliance work.

Project Development Engineer – Wind, BESS & PV | Italy | Remote

We’re hiring a Project Development Engineer to join a fantastic client of ours focused on the development of Wind farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) & PV across Italy.

Our client is a leading global renewable energy developer, specializing in the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects across Europe, the United States and other international markets.

With a growing pipeline and a focus on innovation, we continue to lead in advancing renewable energy solutions that support sustainability, energy security, and economic growth worldwide.

You will play a key role in supporting the project development lifecycle, with a strong focus on permitting processes, technical coordination, and stakeholder management. Support Project Managers in coordinating development activities from early-stage through to RTB (Ready-to-Build)

Lead and manage permitting processes for wind and BESS projects

Review and coordinate technical project documentation, including designs, calculations, and reports

Liaise with local engineering consultants and regulatory authorities

Ensure compliance with Italian planning, environmental, and grid connection regulations

Collaborate closely with Enlight’s international engineering and development teams

• Experience in project development and permitting in Italy - essential
• Wind and / or BESS sector experience - essential
• Strong understanding of Italian regulatory processes for energy projects
• Ability to review and coordinate technical project documentation
• Fluent in Italian and professional-level English (written and spoken)
• Willingness to travel within Italy.

Location : Remote (home-based) with regular travel across Italy.
