Job description

Our client is a prominent Italian industrial engineering firm that designs and manufactures complex process systems for the food and beverage industry. With a strong international footprint, they are currently internalizing their automation capabilities to provide full lifecycle support, from initial design through to plant commissioning and operator training.

We are seeking a technical specialist to take ownership of supervision systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture and deployment of control applications using AVEVA and Wonderware System Platform. While PLC programming is not the primary focus, a deep understanding of plant logic is essential to ensure seamless integration between hardware and supervisory software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build supervision architectures using Application Server and Galaxy objects following company standards.
• Develop SCADA interfaces including data structures, graphics, alarm systems, and reporting tools.
• Manage integration between SCADA layers, plant PLCs, and higher level systems like SQL databases and MES.
• Execute system testing including FAT and SAT protocols.
• Perform on site commissioning and startup activities at client facilities globally.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including functional specifications and user manuals.
• Configure industrial communication networks and OT infrastructure.

Candidate Requirements

• Between 18 months and 3 years of professional experience in SCADA or automation development.
• Demonstrated hands on proficiency with AVEVA or Wonderware System Platform, including InTouch and Historian.
• Prior experience participating in industrial plant startups and commissioning phases.
• Understanding of PLC logic, specifically Siemens TIA Portal, for integration purposes.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Profinet, OPC UA, and Modbus.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL Server.
• Professional proficiency in English for technical documentation and international client interaction.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a system integrator or machinery manufacturer within the food sector.
• Knowledge of C# or .NET scripting for advanced platform customization.
• Familiarity with additional SCADA platforms like WinCC.
• Exposure to Rockwell or Schneider PLC environments.
• Understanding of ISA 88 standards, batch management, or traceability systems.
• Awareness of industrial cybersecurity principles.
