This role involves collaboration with operational teams and requires travel across Italy. The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree, experience in employee relations, and is fluent in Italian and English.

    The role involves developing and implementing strategies to address country labour relations challenges for on-the-road operational business lines and providing labour relations support by collaborating with operational teams to advance company objectives. The role acts as a strategic partner for Operations, Delivery Service Partner Management, and other key internal/external stakeholders.

    The primary focus is to drive EXR operational excellence, goals, and strategy while addressing ER needs within a specific country. Leading through complex labour issues and crisis situations with sound judgment and effective communication is essential.

    The base location within Italy is flexible, with Rome or Naples suggested as options.

    Key job responsibilities include:

    Labour Relations Strategy

    • Strategy Development: Support the Head of Country to create and implement the EXR strategy.
    • Country Execution: Deliver business line-specific goals and initiatives, adhering to approved priorities and standards.
    • Risk Mitigation: Use expertise in employee and labour relations to identify issues, predict risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Own Your ER Environment: Monitor internal and external environments, including regulations and peer practices.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain influential relationships with Operations and other stakeholders.
    • Project Management: Independently manage projects to achieve country and business line results.

    Operational Excellence

    • Analytical Skills: Use data and anecdotes to develop recommendations and measure success.
    • Compliance: Ensure full compliance of EXR activities, flag risks, and suggest alternatives.
    • Deliver Innovation: Develop solutions that challenge current practices.
    • Fostering the Culture: Assess engagement mechanisms and signals for positive workplaces.
    • Site Visits: Routinely visit Amazon operation sites to develop strategies for ER risk mitigation.
    • Writing Skills: Contribute to EXR reporting activities.

    Leadership Capabilities

    • Strategic Vision and Hands-on Execution: Support development of country strategies while managing day-to-day operations.
    • Business Acumen: Translate business needs into EXR plans and participate in strategic meetings.
    • Collaboration and Partnership: Build relationships with various departments to advance company objectives.
    • Problem-Solving and Innovation: Partner with teams to diagnose problems and drive innovative programs.
    • Effective Communication: Clearly communicate EXR matters to ensure organizational alignment.
    • Crisis Management: Handle employee relations issues under time constraints with sound judgment.

    The position reports to the Head of Employee and Experience Relations Italy within the EU Employee Experience and Relations Team. This full-time role requires up to 50% travel across Italy and occasionally beyond, sometimes with little notice.

  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience in employee relations, labour relations, or employment law in Italy
    • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Labour Relations, or MBA
    • Fluent in both spoken and written Italian and English (CEFR, C2)
