Job Description

We are seeking an EMEA Service Thermal NPDI and Tech Support Engineer to join our team in Tognana, Italy. This role involves ensuring safety, serviceability, and business goals are met through design for service principles, collaborating with global technical leads, and providing technical guidance for service offerings and warranty execution.

The Tech Support Engineer will support new products during their market introduction, acting as the point of contact between internal Service and Engineering Teams to resolve customer cases efficiently and gather field information for continuous product improvement.

What will you be doing?
  • Represent Vertiv Services in product development reviews and phase gate reviews;
  • Work with R&D and product management to implement global serviceability specifications;
  • Provide technical guidance for Service Offering development, scope of work, and new services;
  • Support project readiness and completion with necessary deliverables;
  • Assist in design and testing to ensure service readiness in new product launches;
  • Develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures;
  • Participate in equipment startups, collect feedback, and implement improvements;
  • Support logistics with parts research and sourcing;
  • Review ECNs and develop service tips, field change notices, and safety bulletins;
  • Lead documentation and development of training materials for new products;
  • Provide on-site technical assistance as needed;
  • Collaborate with other departments to support field activities and report issues;
  • Share technical knowledge through training and forums;
  • Ensure compliance with legal and environmental regulations.
What will make you successful?
  • Secondary technical education or higher;
  • Proficiency in English and technical terminology;
  • 5+ years experience with industrial chillers and air conditioners;
  • Knowledge of mechanical, thermodynamic, and control/software systems;
  • Experience in service, R&D, laboratory, or testing roles preferred;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, and self-motivation;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web technologies;
  • Ability to manage office and field activities independently;
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% regionally and globally;
  • Customer-oriented mindset and ability to handle critical situations.
