POSTING PRESENTATION:

Nowadays, power modules play a key role in traction inverters for vehicle electrification applications. The harsh automotive operating environment is a big challenge for these devices.

This highlights the challenges for power modules usage in electrified vehicles (xEVs), emphasizing the importance of having a design verification environment for such applications to ensure reliable operation under all conditions.

To better face this challenge, a new laboratory is being established that is capable of optimizing the current validation and characterization of our products.

PROFILE REQUIRED:

• As Embedded Software Engineer, after the necessary training (courses and on-the-job), you will be responsible for developing, validating, and delivering embedded application software on the ST logic board, which will have all the functionalities necessary to verify and characterize the power module under challenging conditions, including full interaction with static and emulated dynamic loads, battery simulators, and associated power electronics devices.
• Main Tasks include:
• Excellent understanding of low-level hardware/software interaction and designing, developing, and debugging software for real-time embedded systems using C, C++
• Definition of product architecture
• Define software requirements and architecture
• Configure operating system, diagnostic, and communication services
• Develop device system solutions with embedded firmware and algorithms
• Develop device drivers for real-time automotive applications
• Work closely with hardware and design engineers to resolve cross-functional design issues
• Maintain current firmware/software systems
• Provide technical documentation
• Serve as a technical interface with other internal groups

The ideal candidate has an Electronics/Electric/Mechatronics engineering background, with embedded system knowledge, firmware, and software development experience.

Skills required include:

• Experience in firmware development (C, C++) for embedded applications on microcontrollers
• Good knowledge of microcontrollers
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink
• Ability to read hardware schematics
• Knowledge of main wired automotive communication protocols
• Understanding of power management architecture for embedded systems
• Knowledge of analog electronics
• Experience with electronic measurements and instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
