Leonardo is seeking a Flight Management Engineer for the Avionic Systems Development area. You will analyze requirements and define embedded software for the Flight Management System on Leonardo Helicopters product lines, coordinating across teams and suppliers in a global context.
Responsibilities include design, development, verification, and certification activities for safety-critical software, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and adherence to standards.

The role is part of the Flight Management organizational unit of Avionic Systems Development area. The unit is responsible for the design, development and qualification/certification activities related to the main on-board computer of Leonardo Helicopters programs (both civil and military), specifically of the software application responsible for the Flight Planning and Sensor Management functions that will be hosted on the target computer.
Sub-System Engineers interface with the Avionic System Engineering functional area for all the aspects pertaining to the integration of the computer and its application in the helicopter avionic system. Other external areas interfaced include CPE offices, Flight Test Pilots and Engineers, Procurement and RMS departments.
Analyze avionic system requirements and customer needs to define subsystem SW requirements and design solutions for the development and certification of embedded, real-time, safety critical applications for the Flight Management System installed on Leonardo Helicopters product lines.
