We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, who will directly report to the Electrical Section Head to join our Electrical Engineering division team based in Rome, Italy.

About the Job

You will work within the Electrical Section, responsible for designing electrical systems for medium, large, and complex projects.

The Senior Electrical Engineer role involves developing assigned tasks independently, with minimal guidance from other seniors in the discipline, primarily for specific topics. Work is periodically reviewed by the Lead Electrical Engineer to verify objectives are met.

Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Preparing project technical specifications aligned with Project/Client requirements;
• Meeting project quality and HSE objectives;
• Reporting on engineering/requisitioning activities to the Lead Electrical Engineer;
• Interfacing with other discipline engineers and project support functions such as Procurement, Construction, and Planning;
• Supervising and coordinating activities of drafters, junior/intermediate designers, and engineers;
• Preparing and checking Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, Wiring diagrams, Area Classification drawings, Grounding System layouts, Panel/Cable schedules, Equipment layouts, Cable layouts, Lighting system layouts, and Electrical installation details;
• Performing power system studies (short circuit, load flow, motor starting, arc flash, harmonic analysis) using ETAP or equivalent software;
• Calculating main electrical equipment sizing, UPS sizing, Cables sizing, Lighting system, Grounding system, and Heat tracing system;
• Preparing Electrical Equipment Material Requisitions and Data sheets;
• Reviewing Vendor Bids and preparing Technical Bids Evaluation;
• Ensuring proper communication with Vendors and technical follow-up of orders;
• Reviewing Vendor Drawings.

You will have opportunities for business trips to attend technical meetings with clients or suppliers, visit vendor workshops, move to other Technip Energies operating centers, and join colleagues overseas. Occasionally, you may also follow up on engineering activities related to the Electrical discipline directly on our sites, supporting erection, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 3-6 years of experience in detailed engineering and design of electrical systems for refinery, gas, power, renewables, or infrastructure projects in a similar position;
• Full familiarity with international codes and standards like IEC, ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, CSA, UL, API, etc.;
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively dealing with design teams in an international, multicultural environment;
• Strong interest in current energy transition challenges and digital transformation processes;
• Availability for international mobility, for short or long-term assignments;
• Knowledge of new energy sources, renewables, green/blue hydrogen technologies is highly appreciated;
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, VBA, query, and database management is a plus;
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and flexible to work under tight schedules within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
