If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Electrical Engineer Junior, reporting directly to the Electrical Section Head to join our Electrical Engineering division team based in Rome, Italy.

About the Job

You will work within the Electrical Section, responsible for designing electrical systems for medium, large, and complex projects.

The role of the Electrical Engineer Junior involves developing assigned tasks under the guidance of senior discipline engineers. Your work will be periodically reviewed by the Lead Electrical Engineer or Team Leader to ensure objectives are met. You will gradually be assigned tasks with increasing complexity and interface requirements.

The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preparing project technical specifications aligned with project and client requirements;
  2. Meeting project quality and HSE objectives;
  3. Reporting on engineering and requisition activities to the Lead Electrical Engineer/Team Leader;
  4. Interfacing with other discipline engineers;
  5. Preparing and checking Single Line Diagrams, Area Classification drawings, Grounding System layouts, Panel/Cable schedules, Equipment layouts, Cable layouts, Lighting system layouts, and Electrical installation details;
  6. Performing power system studies (short circuit, load flow, motor starting, arc flash, harmonic analysis) using ETAP or equivalent software;
  7. Calculating sizing for electrical equipment, UPS, cables, lighting, grounding, lightning, and heat tracing systems;
  8. Preparing Electrical Equipment Material Requisitions and Data sheets;
  9. Reviewing vendor bids and preparing technical bid evaluations;
  10. Ensuring proper communication with vendors and technical follow-up of orders;
  11. Reviewing vendor drawings.

You will have opportunities for business trips to attend technical meetings with clients or suppliers, visit vendor workshops, and collaborate with colleagues overseas. Occasionally, you may support electrical activities on-site during erection, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.

About You

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Main Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with the design team in a multicultural environment;
  • Strong interest in current energy transition challenges and digital transformation;
  • Willingness to undertake international mobility for short or long-term assignments;
  • 1-2 years of experience in detailed engineering and design of electrical systems for refinery, gas, power, renewables, or infrastructure projects is a plus;
  • Knowledge of new energy sources, renewables, and hydrogen technologies is highly valued;
  • Advanced skills in Excel, VBA, database management are a plus;
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adaptable to fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams.
