Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Piove di Sacco, Italy team. You will design electrical features for high-performance units, coordinate with manufacturing, controls, and procurement, and ensure compliance with CE/UL standards.

The role requires a technical electrical degree and at least 3 years in related work, with travel between Italy and Slovakia facilities as needed. Salary ranges from 44,000€ to 55,000€ gross yearly, with a structured benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in similar activities, preferably HVAC.
• Knowledge of electrical CAD tools and MS Office.
• Good understanding of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles.
• English at least intermediate in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical features for standard and special units.
• Dimension principal parts and assemblies and prepare drawings/specifications.
• Create and review product documentation (BOMs, drawings).
• Collaborate with controls engineering and suppliers to develop solutions.
• Support manufacturing and service with day-to-day requests.
• Travel between Italy HQ and Slovakia production facility as needed.

We are currently seeking a Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Piove di Sacco (PD), Italy!

The Electrical Design Engineer develops electrical design for standard and special units, following objectives of quality, environment, costs designing solutions in cooperation with manufacturing engineering, controls engineering, procurement, suppliers, and compliance with the requirement highlighted by Product Marketing. He/She also supports day by day requests from manufacturing and service.

What kind of work will you be doing?

• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market leading innovation.
• Designing of the product electrical features, taking direct responsibility of the dimensioning of the principal parts or assemblies;
• To create and review product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of material).
• Create design solutions for special products, cooperating to the costing process.
• Cooperate with Controls Engineering in the creation of controls connection guides.
• Co-design activity with external suppliers and other colleagues located in different regions.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues about products of his/her competence.
• To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.
• To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility.
• Availability to travel when needed between the Italian HQ (base) and a production facility in Slovakia.
• Electrical CAD skills combined with a good attention to details.
• Experience of EMC and low voltage regulations (e.g. CE).
• Competence in international electrical regulations and standards (e.g. UL, CSA, MD, and IEEE).

What will make you successful?

• Technical Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• At least 3 years of previous working experience on similar activities, ideally in the HVAC sector.
• Excellent knowledge of Electrical CAD systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are desirable but not essential.
• English – Intermediate level – Written and spoken.
• Attitude to work in a multinational and dynamic environment.
• Know-how of air conditioning/refrigeration products is a plus.
• Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible, well organized and pro-active

The anticipated salary range for this role in Piove di Sacco (PD), Italy is between 44.000€ to 55.000€ gross per year (based on a full-time working week). Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation and benefits. Where applicable, a comprehensive overview of the full benefits package and any additional compensation will be provided during the recruitment process in accordance with local legal requirements. Compensation is determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including skills, experience, and job responsibilities.
