Job summary

Vertiv in Piove di Sacco, Italy, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to develop electrical design for standard and special units, ensuring cost, quality, and regulatory compliance. You’ll work with manufacturing, controls, procurement and suppliers to deliver robust solutions and review documentation.

The role requires a Technical Diploma or degree in electrical engineering, 3+ years of related HVAC experience, strong CAD skills, and intermediate English.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in similar activities, ideally HVAC.
• Excellent knowledge of Electrical CAD systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles.
• English – Intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical features for standard and special units.
• Create and review product documentation (drawings, BOMs).
• Cooperate with manufacturing, controls engineering, procurement and suppliers.
• Co-design with external suppliers and colleagues across regions.
• Travel between Italy HQ and Slovakia production facility.

He/She also supports day by day requests from manufacturing and service.What kind of work will you be doing?Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market leading innovation. Designing of the product electrical features, taking direct responsibility of the dimensioning of the principal parts or assemblies; To create and review product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of material). Create design solutions for special products, cooperating to the costing process. Cooperate with Controls Engineering in the creation of controls connection guides. Co-design activity with external suppliers and other colleagues located in different regions. Analyze and resolve technical issues about products of his/her competence. To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs. To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility. Availability to travel when needed between the Italian HQ (base) and a production facility in Slovakia. Electrical CAD skills combined with a good attention to details. Experience of EMC and low voltage regulations (e.G. CE). Competence in international electrical regulations and standards (e.G. UL, CSA, MD, and IEEE).What will make you successful?Technical Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. At least 3 years of previous working experience on similar activities, ideally in the HVAC sector. Excellent knowledge of Electrical CAD systems and Microsoft Office tools. Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are desirable but not essential. English – Intermediate level – Written and spoken. Attitude to work in a multinational and dynamic environment. Know-how of air conditioning/refrigeration products is a plus.
