ERM is seeking a motivated Health and Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Consultant with a passion for sustainability to join our growing team based in Italy.

The role will be based in Milan but we offer flexible working arrangements.

ERM has a strong network of EHS experts who come together globally to innovate our service offerings for clients regularly through our internal technical community.

Our team works with clients in energy, technology, mining, and multinational corporations. The services provided by the EHS/OP Team include EHS strategy, designing and implementing EHS management systems, compliance support, and audit programs, covering environmental, health, and safety disciplines.

We also provide subject matter expertise alongside digital services colleagues—helping clients optimize their EHS and operational data for better decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of corporate Environmental, Health & Safety strategies and programs for HSE and Sustainability, including diagnostics, audits, awareness campaigns, training, and risk assessments.
• Assist in H&S training and field coaching, including competency assessments, behavioral change programs, human factors analysis, and evaluation.
• Support the development of HSE and Sustainability governance processes to improve operational performance, including risk assessment, management system development, audits, and training programs.
• Contribute to specific sustainability projects such as low carbon economy transitions, carbon neutrality, climate change initiatives, Life-Cycle Assessments, and circular economy efforts.

About You

• Extensive relevant experience in HSE and sustainability, either as a consultant or in industry.
• Master's degree in Environmental/Safety Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or related fields.
• Proficiency in English (C1 level); knowledge of other languages, especially French, is a plus.
• Good knowledge of Italian HSE legislation and international standards (e.g., SDGs, TCFD, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ISO 26000, SA8000).
