Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Junior Consultant in Milan or Rome to develop expertise in Environmental Health and Safety Due Diligence, ESG screening and compliance reviews within our EHS team. You will work with clients and specialists across disciplines on sustainability assessments and M&A projects, contributing to safer, greener outcomes.

We expect a Master’s degree in environmental science or related field and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with fluency in Italian and English.

Qualifications

• Master degree or higher in environmental science, earth sciences, or environmental engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience in EHS due diligence and/or compliance audits.
• Knowledge of Italian regulations (D.Lgs 152/2006; D.Lgs 81/2008) and ASTM standards.
• Fluency in Italian and English; third language is a plus.
• Experience in M&A environmental due diligence is a plus.

Responsibilities

EHS and ESG Due Diligence and Compliance Review - Junior Consultant

You will join our Environment and Health Department in Milan or Rome

Your new role

As our new HSE Junior consultant , you will have gained 2-3 years’ experience in Compliance, Transaction and Corporate Services as a broad area, with specific focus on Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance and or due diligence work in the M&A sector with emphasis on sustainability assessment, planning and strategy.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Execution of Environmental and/or Health and Safety Due Diligence
• Execution of ESG screening
• Execution of EHS compliance audits
• Taking direct part in the assignments, with direct interaction with Clients and third parties (e.g. lawyers, advisors, vendor/buyer, regulators) and implies strong soft skills (e.g. negotiation, communication, strategic vision) and capabilities in problem-solving and teamwork
• Proposal and reporting in Italian and English language

You will be part of our successful team composed by engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, chemists, biologists, etc. working together in an international network for a variety of projects regarding mainly contaminated site management, expert services, permitting, due diligence, impact assessment, water treatment, health and safety, climate risk and sustainability. These include:

• A Master level university degree in environmental science, earth sciences, environmental engineering or similar
• Minimum 2/3 years of relevant experience in EHS Due Diligence and or compliance audit
• Knowledge and familiarity with D. Lgs 152/2006 and D. Lgs. 81/2008, ASTM standards
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Italian & English, a third language (e.g. German, Spanish, French) is a plus
• Knowledge of the decommissioning activities, is a plus
