Job Description:

About the Company: Within OVHcloud, the Business Unit Industry is responsible for designing and delivering server resources and infrastructures, innovating and industrializing best practices. This ensures a competitive and quality level of service while respecting the deadlines agreed with customers.

About the Role: As a member of the DC Operations team and reporting to the Datacenter Manager, the DC IT/RUN maintenance Technician ensures the proper functioning of the data center infrastructure by securing equipment installation and maintenance, which guarantees the equipment’s continuity of service. The role requires working on-call on a team rotation basis.

Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to datacenter systems architecture and ensure 1st level support
2. Optimize racks for new servers
3. Connect power and network cables within server and network racks
4. Wire incoming cables and networks within the racks respecting wiring schemes
5. Install / Uninstall servers as required by the DC Team Leader and in accordance with the operational plan
6. Assemble and install computer hardware (assemble / install / upgrade/ update servers)
7. Adhere to health and safety rules and regulatory requirements
8. Escalate incident tickets to Level 2 support where appropriate
9. Complete interventions on equipment in response to monitoring alerts or customer tickets
10. Upgrade servers (change obsolete components)
11. Undertake curative maintenance on delivered servers
12. Troubleshoot technical issues using various tools: network, servers
13. Understand and maintain cabling systems
14. Replace failed networking devices within racks
15. Implement actions to resolve problems related to the server environment
16. Ensure servers are functioning properly via analysis and monitoring
17. Use the right tools and keep asset databases up to date: stock, assets, status, actions, etc...
18. Assist team members with other relevant maintenance tasks within the Datacenter
19. Coordinate activity with all 24/7 teams and help improve customer relations
20. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department, meeting the requirements set out in the quality management system
21. Help maintain good customer relations and satisfaction daily
22. Share information between maintenance agents and provide reports to the Team Leader
23. Respect the schedule and targets set by the Team Leader

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent in electronics / IT / Maintenance
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience building and maintaining computers
