Job Description

Thales' Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain in Gorgonzola specializes in avionics, navigation, and radar systems for civil and military aviation. Italy serves as the Group’s competence center for Navigation Aids products and non-Radar Surveillance Products.

Job Objective

The Obsolescence Management team within the NAS Business Segment oversees the analysis and management of obsolete components to ensure production continuity and customer support. The engineer acts as an interface among stakeholders to coordinate obsolescence activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate End of Life (EOL) and Product Change Notification (PCN) impacts on production.
  2. Identify and propose alternative components, utilizing existing data libraries and technical specifications comparisons.
  3. Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams to select optimal solutions.
  4. Maintain and update the obsolescence database.
  5. Monitor and track corrective actions from notification to resolution.
  6. Contribute to process improvements in Obsolescence Management.
  7. Analyze product Bill of Materials periodically to anticipate potential obsolescences.
  8. Generate reports on obsolescence status to support decision-making.
  9. Monitor KPIs related to obsolescence management.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in international electronic companies as a component engineer or similar role is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with data analysis is beneficial.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • IT proficient and adaptable to challenges.
