FieldCore is looking for an exceptional Mechanical Field Engineer and Technical Field Advisor to join our Field Operations team based in Italy.

As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains, and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As a Technical Field Advisor for Steam Turbines, you will contribute to managing site activities including planning, organizing, integrating, and monitoring resources such as labor, tools, and technical assistance. You will make decisions, apply concepts to complex issues, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning at customer power generating facilities. Additionally, you will perform hands-on work and be responsible for the maintenance of Steam Turbines and some Gas Turbines.

How You Will Make a Difference:

• Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure work reflects GE safety standards.
• Manage, coordinate, and monitor Steam site activities.
• Lead and manage on-site systems and equipment, including ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment.
• Provide technical instruction and work according to company standards regarding operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites.
• Write technical reports, prepare job status reports, reports to customers, timesheets, and expense sheets in a timely and thorough manner.
• Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
• Prepare accurate technical reports for customer records and future outages.
• Perform walk-downs to verify contractor and craft personnel work to company standards.
• Manage aftermarket upgrades at the site level.

Special Role Requirements:

• Willingness to travel extensively overseas for projects and field assignments.
• Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Ability to spend significant time away from home for training and assignments.

Skills for Success

You should have extensive Field Engineering Services experience with a solid understanding of Steam Turbine Operation and Controlling Parameters. You will also:

• Possess strong technical skills in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical diagrams, dial and laser alignment, and thermal growth equipment.
• Support field service activities actively and know where to seek answers to questions.
• Have experience with successful installations and be trained on OEM equipment like Alstom, Siemens, or others.

A formal education with a University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but we value your total experience and professional achievements most.
