Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Engineering Project Manager to oversee the development, documentation, and successful completion of engineering projects. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project timelines, gathering and defining requirements, ensuring quality control, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining tasks, milestones, timelines, and resources.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, design, QA, etc.) to ensure alignment and smooth workflow.
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation:
- Work closely with stakeholders (internal and external) to gather project requirements.
- Document and maintain clear, detailed project specifications, technical requirements, and functional requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is current and accessible to relevant team members.
- Project Execution and Monitoring:
- Lead project execution, ensuring timely completion and scope adherence.
- Monitor progress, adjust plans as necessary, and troubleshoot issues.
- Track and report on performance, deliverables, and risks.
- Team Leadership and Communication:
- Foster collaboration among multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective communication channels.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management on project status and metrics.
- Lead and motivate team members to ensure high performance and timely delivery.
- Quality Assurance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all deliverables meet established quality standards.
- Identify potential risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, as applicable.
- Project Completion and Handover:
- Oversee final project review and ensure all deliverables meet specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive post-project documentation and transition plans.
- Lead project post-mortems to analyze successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in engineering project management, including documentation and requirements management.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, tools, and software.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with varying complexities and timelines.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- PMP or relevant project management certification is a plus.
