About the location

About the role

Note: This role will not be onboarded until July 29th, 2025.

The Assistant Purchasing Manager supports the overall operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom departments, ensuring all hotel areas have necessary supplies for smooth operations. Responsibilities include verifying incoming deliveries, ensuring quality control, managing inventory levels, maintaining accurate records, coordinating storage, and ensuring efficient, sanitary, and organized handling of supplies.

What you will do
  1. Be part of the pre-opening team!
  2. Supervise, train, and motivate Purchasing Department staff, ensuring clarity of duties and responsibilities.
  3. Maintain effective communication with all departments and the Home Office to facilitate smooth operations.
  4. Ensure compliance with Four Seasons’ policies, internal controls, and purchasing procedures.
  5. Oversee the receiving process, ensuring documentation and quality standards are met.
  6. Monitor and update inventory systems to maintain appropriate stock levels and par balances.
  7. Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of all incoming goods.
  8. Safeguard storage areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  9. Conduct regular inventory checks and adjust stock levels as needed.
  10. Assist in resolving cost discrepancies and support Accounts Payable with invoice issues.
  11. Support food safety and sustainability initiatives in purchasing operations.
  12. Coordinate replenishment orders for timely delivery.
  13. Participate in month-end, quarterly, and annual inventories for all supplies.
  14. Oversee timely delivery of goods and communicate any shortages or missing items.
  15. Work with the Director of Purchasing to fulfill requisitions promptly, following policies & procedures.
  16. Monitor slow-moving items and report findings to the Director of Purchasing.
  17. Assist in staff scheduling and disciplinary actions.
  18. Perform any additional duties as assigned.
What you bring
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two years of full-time employment in a similar position within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage, resort supplies, cost control, labor control, maintenance, and finance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
