Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Prepare special meals or substitute items. Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Thaw frozen food in the refrigerator. Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food. Maintain food logs. Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food. Communicate assistance needs during busy periods. Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials. Notify Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items. Ensure food quality standards are met. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, presentation standards, and checklists. Prepare cold foods.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff; serve as a role model.
  • Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs. Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues.
  • Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond to employee concerns.
  • Adhere to quality standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Lift objects up to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Work Experience: At least 3 years of related experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: None required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None required.
