Mars Renewable (MARS) is dedicated to the global Battery Storage Business, with the aim to become a leading provider of battery solutions worldwide. Our team has established a track record of over 2 GW of grid-connected renewable projects globally.

The Mars Renewable Europe Project Development team is seeking a highly accomplished renewable energy business development leader to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong entrepreneur to advance their career. Reporting to the regional head of Europe project development, this position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful battery storage projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Originate and manage C&I and utility-scale Battery Storage / Solar plus Storage project development opportunities, overseeing site control, interconnection, and permitting processes.
  2. Lead project development activities to achieve Notice to Proceed (NTP) status by managing relationships with stakeholders such as developers, authorities, landowners, grid operators, offtakers, and advisors.
  3. Lead deal structuring and commercial negotiations with developers for project acquisition or partnership agreements such as development services or joint development agreements.
  4. Coordinate tasks and inputs from supporting functions including Legal, Technical Solutions, Finance, and Project Delivery.
  5. Coordinate financial modeling to evaluate project economics.
  6. Identify and contract suitable greenfield and brownfield sites.
  7. Stay informed on market developments and industry policies/regulations to identify business opportunities promptly.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in negotiating and closing commercial transactions with Landlords, Developers, Utilities, Technical Advisors, Regulatory Agencies, and Offtakers.
  2. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
  3. Knowledge of the Solar / Storage industry, regional regulations, and market mechanisms.
  4. Additional experience in IPP project acquisition, community solar, grid analysis, multinational environments, legal aspects, and full project cycle development is a plus.
