About LSM
Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) is an international network of 900 Catholic organizations and thousands of grassroots leaders working together to care for our common home and advance climate and ecological justice. We strive to be led by the Holy Spirit and find joy and support in our faith and each other. We act at the forefront of faith-based efforts to protect the environment, and our work is very fast-paced, with multiple projects and priorities managed daily. We enjoy a collaborative working environment where everyone is committed to tackling the planetary crisis with courage and love. As Pope Francis said in Laudato Si’, we believe that “truly, much can be done!”
About the Role
Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Manager of Eco-Conversion Programs will provide administrative and programmatic support to LSM’s eco-conversion initiatives. Eco-conversion is one of LSM’s key strategic goals: to encourage a change of heart in the Catholic faithful and motivate a more passionate concern for our common home, enshrining creation care as a Catholic priority.
In this capacity, the Manager will work closely with the Eco-Conversion program assistant, LSM’s communications team, and collaborate with key members of our movement, including the Global Membership Council, board, secretariat members, LSM theological and spiritual consultants, and other movement members in the development and execution of programs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and curate eco-spirituality resources:
  • Assist in developing eco-spirituality resources for the LSM Monthly Prayer Guide, Season of Creation, Lent, Advent, and other resources for our LSM members and the wider movement. This may include working with volunteers, such as LSM’s theological and spiritual consultants, in the development of new materials.
  • Collect and identify eco-spirituality resources within LSM’s movement to promote within LSM’s global network.
Manage and coordinate key eco-conversion initiatives:
  • Support coordination of the Laudato Si’ Contemplation program, which includes a meditation training program, workshops, and public dialogues
  • Support the expansion of Laudato Si’s retreat program into an online format and training resources to cultivate retreat leaders.
  • Coordinate online global prayer gatherings at key liturgical moments when possible (Lent, Laudato Si’ Week, Advent)
  • Help support the Creation Care Prayer Network and the development of other entities, such as an eco-conversion working group.
Support the deepening of LSM culture across the movement
  • Help conduct internal exams to ensure eco-conversion and values are integrated within existing programs.
  • Develop materials and modules to scale LSM culture across the movement, such as LSM values, formation materials, and glossary of terms. Conduct training as needed.
  • Support LSM’s ongoing commitment to synodality by supporting processes to ensure ongoing consultation and dialogue across the movement.
Ensure LSM’s coherence to Catholic Church teaching:
  • Stay abreast of developments within the Catholic Church and hierarchy relevant to LSM’s work
  • Serve as an internal theological consultant for the LSM Secretariat
Manage the organization and tracking of all eco-conversion programs, activities, and resources:
  • Create activity summaries for each program, activity, and new resources.
  • Manage and coordinate with the Comms team to deliver each program, activity, and new resource.
  • Use a planning tool to help keep organized and keep track of all the different streams of work (Zoho).
  • Review emails and communications before the Comms team sends them out.
  • Perform other LSM tasks as needed.
